MOTHER’S DAY.

Mother’s really are an embodiment of grace. It all feels like Yesterday whilst I was still in Secondary school, I remember coming home in tears because someone said something about me. That day, my mum and elder sister sat me down and made me understand that if I were to allow every single thing a person said about me get to me, I might not go very far in life. My mum made me understand that I will be who I choose to be if I want to be it and if I allowed the definition of me that others had interfere with who I chose to be, it won’t end up well for me.

My mum is always interested in every way possible I choose to grow. She is my bestfriend and you best believe me when I tell you that I tell my mum every single thing that goes on in my life.

Sometime this year, I came across a trend where mother’s spoke about the changes they had to go through as a result of pregnancy. I saw soo many horrendous things about how some can’t till date, feel when they need to pee, how some have bass voices due to pregnancy, how some had tear as a result of the weight of the child and how some still feel pain due to child bearing. But, one thing that struck me was how even though they went through such circumstances, some in the comment section said they would do it all over and over again if they had to.

This made me understand that truly, a mothers love is second to none.

I want to say a huge thank you to all the mothers that go through labour despite knowing the risk factor, the ones that love their children endlessly even after suffering damages as a result of their birth, to all the mothers who have taken up the role of fathers alongside their role of mothers because the child’s father abandoned his responsibility, to all the mothers that keep making changes and letting society know that there is more to being a woman than just having kids and to all the aunties/ elder sisters that have played the role of mothers.

Thank you for bringing us into this world and not just stopping at that but also training us to become better human beings.

I want you to know that we see all your sacrifices and your love for us, we appreciate all your effort and we love you forever and a day more to come.

Happy mother’s Day to all righteous mothers, you really are an embodiment of graciousness.
